Michael Cody’s practice focuses on business, real estate and employment litigation;  business and real estate transactions; employment consulting and transactions; and commercial and residential landlord-tenant law.

Mr. Cody represents clients in business, real estate and employment litigation matters in both state and federal courts.  He has represented owners, developers and managers of residential and commercial properties in all aspects of real estate, landlord/tenant, business and employment litigation up to and including trial.  He has litigated breach of lease, breach of contract, eviction, failure to disclose, fraud, usury, construction, personal injury, wage and hour, sexual harassment, and employment discrimination matters.  He has represented employers before the Labor Commissioner and in Superior Court regarding wage and hour claims.  Mr. Cody has also represented both individuals and groups before various city and county planning and development agencies.

Mr. Cody advises, counsels and works closely with developers and managers of commercial and residential property on business, real estate and employment transactions.  He drafts, reviews and negotiates purchase/sale contracts, commercial and residential leases, property management agreements and employment agreements.  He advises owners and managers of commercial and residential property on human resource issues, including drafting and reviewing human resources literature and advising employers on compliance with relevant legislation.  Mr. Cody has taught seminars to various clients regarding compliance with sexual harassment legislation.
